Finally made it to England to visit Erin and her family. A long overdue trip.
We were pleasantly surprised to get there in only 8 hours (start to finish) and very impressed with the Eurotunnel. One minute you're in France, 30 minutes sitting in your car on a train and you're in England. There are even bathrooms! Amazing! Not really any lines and it was all very quick and easy. Thank goodness.
Spending time with family was so so nice. It's been a long time since we were able to spend quality time in a home with no worries about where little ones are. It was very much appreciated and enjoyed. The boys were in heaven with Alfie and Elliot, Maria happily occupied with drawing and crafting, Paul busy rounding up every single remote control in the house and Alex and I enjoyed our evening talks with Erin, RJ, and Maisie.
So much fun. Lots of busy-ness, but in a good way, and plenty of Hobnobs (the most amazing chocolate dipped biscuit ever.
Still catching up on laundry- tricky as I just ran out of laundry detergent....finally finished a little mini series on Kind Henry VIII and his 6th wives after visiting his "domain" and trying to get back in the groove of school.
Thinking this morning about making Potato Soup to contrast this dreary weather over here.
Fall is officially dwindling and slowly turning into winter.

All I have to say is...."Maria's boots"
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful trip! Was especially glad to read that you enjoyed time relaxing with familiar and loved people. So good to see the kids-and that Paul....haha, his character shines through even in photos..can't wait to see them all again!
