On Easter

Just a few Easter Sunday photos.
Maybe next year I'll get my act together before Good Friday.... when it's pouring rain outside.....and randomly decide that we need to put together an Easter garden. Inside of course (insert cringing face of husband) because obviously, its raining.
And, even though it was supposed to be a group activity maybe you kiddos could just watch and not actually touch. Because well, this is getting pretty messy. Seriously guys.  Stop touching.

But isn't it lovely?
I do think so.
And especially so Friday night with just a candle to light it.

So we will be doing that again. But hopefully next time with more thought, more contemplation, more explanation, more helpful little hands, and over a longer period of time.
And outside,
of course.

We also did resurrection rolls for the first time this year, thanks to a friend who very kindly brought me everything I needed and just said, "you should do it." So we did! And they were yummy, and the storyline behind them was lovely. I was surprised at how much the boys listened and that Simon actually stood guard at the oven until there were like 45 seconds remaining.
Although, I've got to say, it was a little awkward talking about the marshmallow being Jesus and then tossing the rolls in the tomb (oven!!!!)

But great idea. Wow! It amazes me how creative people are!

We kept it super simple this year.
Just a little egg dyeing on Saturday, simple Easter baskets Sunday morning with a special breakfast and our own private ;) little hunt in the front yard.
I'm pretty certain we're not going to be able to get away with that next year. William was unimpressed by the private nature of our hunt,
"But when are we going to Easter?!"
As if his parents couldn't possibly be suggesting that hard boiled eggs in the front yard was as good as it was getting.

Sorry buddy, maybe next year.

But the corned beef with potatoes and cabbage turned out delicious!
Finally our Easter tradition was edible!
Raspberry Pretzel Jell-O is always amazing.

And another blessed Easter come and gone.
